What role does Mercer FirstChoice have in my benefit plan?
Mercer FirstChoice provides a network of providers your TPA or Insurance Carrier has selected for your benefit plan. Your claims are forwarded by the provider to the TPA or Insurance Carrier for benefit determination and adjudication.
How do I check if my doctor/hospital is part of the Plan?
The Human Resources representative through your employer may have a supply of directories in their office. You can also go to the Provider Directory tab on this Website or contact our Customer Service Department at (724) 983-5654. Mercer FirstChoice Customer Service Department can advise you of providers by specialty in your area. You may also nominate a provider for membership by contacting us or your physician.
Why is another Company's phone number on my Identification card?
This company is the third-party administrator or the insurance company that administers your benefits. Mercer FirstChoice cannot provide you with benefit information or information pertaining to the payment of a claim but the company listed can.
